Line run buses will no longer be a solution, as we have lost over 90% of our 14 million annual visitor total. We must have commercial air, preferably Southwest Airlines, that offers affordable fares, specializes in resort locations (Las Vegas' largest carrier), and could provide meaningful capacity out of major destinations, like Atlanta, Houston and Dallas - cities that have no gaming.
The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority must do a better job, in conjunction with our nine resort casinos, in offering the required support to attract daily commercial service. And it must be done quickly before we lose another casino resort.
Fortunately, our current operating casinos have much less debt than before the five closings, so properties can now survive on less revenue. But we have 190 days and nights, off season, mid-week, now facing us, and we must have new markets to draw from.
Times a wasting!!
