The big difference is mid-week, where the Strip fills many of its rooms with full rate conventions and trade shows, that allow an average room rate of over $170, at 93 percent occupancy. At most AC properties, the average rate is under $100 and the occupancy probably less than 80 percent (annual 85 percent).

AC has 190 nights a year where there is little demand, and what there is, is discounted by 80 to 90 percent from weekend rates. A perfect time for convention business, if we had an airline company offering service into AC International Airport, as air is the preferred method of travel for businessmen, where their company pays all travel expenses. And air service into ACI, would allow our casinos to promote casino players from places like Atlanta, Dallas and Houston, cities as large as Philadelphia, that have no casinos or race tracks.

Until we recognize and solve our problem, we are not going to get back any of the 60 percent loss in casino win, that has transpired since Pennsylvania approved slot casinos in 2006. Once we had 14 million bus visitors, that provided customers, many on mid-week days, but 90 percent of them have found more convenient, closer casino destinations so our AC visitor estimates have diminished from 35 million annually to something closer to 22 million. And the AC advertising budget is still concentrating on our old markets, now with their own forms of gaming. Time to make a deal with a tourism related airline, like Southwest (Las Vegas' largest carrier), and start with an Atlanta connection.

By the way Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport, is the world's busiest airport and has 90 flights a day (6 or 7 non-stop) just to Las Vegas.
