My last effort was as a partner of Northeast Resorts, that had control of 150 acres on I-90 in Palmer and a second site on riverfront land in New Bedford. Finally, the MA legislature passed a bill allowing 3 casinos and 1 race track with slots, but the Mohegan Tribe left our North East partnership in Palmer, in favor of the racetrack, near Boston.
Now that the federal government has refused to approve the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal casino in Taunton, hopefully, the Rush Street proposal for Worcester can move forward.
My best wishes to retiring Casino Commission Chairman Stephen Crosby, for taking on such a daunting responsibility.
