Michigan lawmaker 'cautiously optimistic' online casinos will be legalized | WZZM13.com
Online Gaming in Michigan seems very similar to the Online Gaming operations in New Jersey, where both states have only one city with commercial gaming; Detroit and Atlantic City.
NJ passed its Online Legislation to retain much of the State's gaming revenue; considering that Casinos in Eastern Pennsylvania and slots at Aqueduct and Yonkers, are much closer to 95 percent of the State's population, than to Atlantic City.
In Michigan the State will cause harm to the three Detroit casinos, but will primarily impact the States Tribal casinos. Although the Tribes can most likely void or renegotiate their Compacts, and reduce what they pay to the State and local communities.
