Baton Rouge needs to be careful in the implementation of non smoking in adult establishments, like Casinos and bars. Because if you allow the sale and manufacture of cigarettes, while restricting where they can be smoked; many residents may be forced to entertain at home. And here children are often at risk, with the government unable to protect them.

Springfield lobbying for the right to develop a downtown casino

Illinois doesn't need an additional casino, especially if the five now being considered are approved. But there are a number of riverboat casinos, like Alton, that are dying with competition coming from many VGT's in all types of businesses (all they need is a liquor license, which many municipalities are anxious to approve, because they share 5 percent of the slot win).

Perhaps a developer interested in Springfield can buy a license and move it to the capital.

Smoking ban rules to come out in July | AGB

Countries like the Philippines and Macao need to be careful in the implementation of non smoking in adult establishments, like casinos and bars. Because if you allow the sale and manufacture of cigarettes, while restricting where they can be smoked; many residents may be forced to entertain at home. And here children are often at risk, with no government to protect them. If a country tries to completely stop the sale and use of cigarettes; they face a result, similar to Prohibition in the US, where an illegal underground is the inevitable result. And the country loses an important source of tax revenue. And by not allowing smoking rooms in active gaming rooms, you force the smokers to take a break, or choose a different country to visit, which impacts the win and associated taxes.

The issue of casino gaming in North Jersey has been hotly debated since Pennsylvania approved slot machine operations commencing in the Fall of 2006, while, at the same time, metro New York City was introducing 4,000 slot machines at Yonkers Raceway. Since then PA has added table games, NY approved slots for Aqueduct, and Maryland approved slots, and then table games for metro areas like Baltimore and Washington D.C. The combination has had a devastating impact on Atlantic City gaming revenues and hotel room demand.
