Tribe rejects both gaming bills saying both 'don't make economic sense' for them | Tampa Bay Times

My comment:

The Florida House version is more realistic, if the State wants to increase Tribal revenue sharing; but the House is missing a valuable tourism opportunity for the State; by not adding the games of Roulette and Craps to the games allowed at Seminole Tribal casinos. Craps is an American favorite and Roulette the major game in Europe and some parts of South America. And when tourists check with the competition, in the Islands or Gulf coast; they will find these games. This discussion shouldn't just be about revenue sharing, the Tribal Chairman is correct, the Feds could have the last word; unless the Tribe gets something in exchange for a larger cut of the win.

Connecticut tribes 'days away' from unveiling casino site to compete with MGM Springfield | masslive.com

My comment:

Today's article include many salient facts, but adding a 4th casino to the Hartford/Springfield market makes little sense, when there is a larger market available on the Western side of the State; that would be the most convenient casino to the million- plus residents of Westchester, Orange and Putnam Counties in New York. Plus this location would also earn most of its revenues from citizens of another State. Where a 4th casino, serving greater Hartford, is going to further tax CT citizens, and will compete as much with the true destination casino resort facilities of Mohehgan Sun and Foxwoods, as it will with the closer MGM casino in Springfield.

Casino Gaming Draws Huge Support In SC - FITSNews - Discussion on Topix

My comment:

Today's article indicates tremendous resident support for limited gaming in South Carolina. A recent poll showed 68% support for casino gaming, which the State already has casino games, with several cruises that quickly get to International waters, before the games begin.

And South Carolina already has a State Lottery, that provides voluntary taxes, but offer much poorer odds to the player and in most states have higher per capita spending in the lower income neighborhoods.

Is online gambling driving new business at Atlantic City casinos?

My comment:

Online gaming is good for Atlantic City, because our once monopoly market in North and Central New Jersey, now has casinos closer to them in Eastern Pennsylvania and slots at Yonkers and Aqueduct. Many of these NY residents are two hours or more from Atlantic City, but much closer to out of State gaming. At one time AC received over 14 million visitors, just on line run busses, started by Resorts International, mid-week days only, in November 1978, while we were still the only legal casino, outside Nevada.
